ALDO COPPOLA ISOLA: A RETURN TO THE ORIGINS, A VISION FOR THE FUTURE

There are places that hold a story within them, continuing to transform it over time. Aldo Coppola Isola, at Via Borsieri 29 in Milan, was born from one such place: an address deeply rooted in the history of the Coppola family, now completely reimagined to express a new evolution of the brand.

It was here, in the heart of the Isola district, that Franco Coppola, Aldo’s father, had his salon. And it was here that a very young Aldo Coppola first began working and learning his craft, before embarking on his own journey and opening his first salon on Via Manzoni.

The connection with Via Borsieri has never been broken. Today, the historic Atelier is reborn as Aldo Coppola Isola: a project rooted in its heritage, yet looking firmly towards the future.

A NEW CONCEPT OF MATERIAL, LIGHT AND DESIGN

With three large windows overlooking Via Borsieri, the new Atelier engages with the neighbourhood from the very first glance. Three LED walls bring the façade to life with images from Aldo Coppola campaigns, collections and products, extending an ever-evolving creative universe beyond the Atelier itself.

Inside, 16 styling stations take shape within a project conceived by Aldo Coppola Jr and developed with architect Anton Kobrinez, where material, light, design and technology come together in the service of beauty.

The luminous surfaces of Laminam Cristallo Gold meet the warmth of Riva 1920 solid wood, used for the pieces of the AC Design Wood Collection, conceived by Aldo Coppola Jr. The Beccuccio mirrors, Komoda chairs, the wardrobe Pettineuse and Audrey become an integral part of the architecture, creating a continuous dialogue between design and nature.

THE SPIRAL, A SYMBOL OF CONTINUOUS EVOLUTION

One distinctive element runs through the Atelier like a signature: the spiral.

Designed by Aldo Coppola Jr and interpreted through elements crafted by Finewood, it is a form found throughout nature — from shells and plants to water and galaxies. It begins at a centre and continues to unfold outwards, without ever losing its connection to its origin.

At the new Aldo Coppola Isola, it becomes the metaphor for a philosophy: to evolve without forgetting where you come from.

Other details also engage with the brand’s more recent history, reinterpreting in wood forms that recall Philippe Starck’s designs for the historic Garibaldi Atelier. The past is not simply referenced, but transformed through new materials and new design languages.

LIGHT BECOMES ARCHITECTURE

Particular attention has also been devoted to the lighting design, developed with Artemide to combine atmosphere with professional precision.

Among its most iconic elements is Discovery, the lamp designed by Ernesto Gismondi and winner of the 2018 Compasso d’Oro, customised for Aldo Coppola with a distinctive red frame. Together with Helgoland and the Ilio suspension lights, it transforms light into an architectural element in its own right.

TECHNOLOGY AND WELLBEING: A NEW VISION OF HEAD SPA

Technology enters the Atelier discreetly, always in the service of the experience.

In the wash area, Gamma & Bross wash units integrate Takara Belmont’s Multi Spa-Head Pro and Spa Mist II technologies, designed to transform shampooing and treatments dedicated to the scalp and hair into an even more enveloping ritual.

The ultimate expression of this philosophy is the new VIP Suite, a completely private space created both for dedicated Head Spa rituals and for those who wish to experience their time at the Atelier in complete privacy.

Here, even the atmosphere changes. Laminam Onice Grigio surfaces create a more intimate and enveloping setting, while at the heart of the space, THE ONE by Takara Belmont allows every stage of the service — from cutting and colouring to washing and treatments — to unfold without the need to move from one station to another.

BEAUTY AS AN EXPERIENCE

Aldo Coppola Isola brings together haircare, beauty and a sensory dimension in one seamless experience.

The longstanding relationship with the L’Oréal family continues through L’Oréal Professionnel, Kérastase, Redken and Shu Uemura Art of Hair, integrated into Aldo Coppola’s personalised consultations and services.

To mark the new opening, GLASS, the Aldo Coppola luminosity ritual for Redken, makes its debut: a ritual designed to transform light into matter, giving the hair immediate, intense, almost mirror-like shine.

ghd accompanies the styling experience, while the beauty universe is completed by Shani and Valmont. The sensory dimension extends to the fragrances of Rubeus Milano, bringing the language of scent into the Atelier experience.

Under the artistic direction of Mauro Situra, the new Atelier expresses the Aldo Coppola aesthetic through a space where past and future, craftsmanship and technology, nature and design coexist in harmony.

Aldo Coppola Isola is therefore much more than a new Atelier. It marks a return to a place of origin and the beginning of a new chapter. A story that changes shape, moves across generations and continues to evolve without ever losing its centre.
